Original Art

I create my original paintings with acrylic paint on canvas. I prefer using acrylics because it allows me to layer the paint, which gives depth of color to the image I’m working on. Acrylics are a water based medium, so as each layer dries quickly, I can continue to add my layers, building a richer look.

I also offer original drawings, which are done using Prismacolor pencils. Again, I layer the colors, and the pencils allow me to blend and merge colors. Sometimes I create a drawing starting with pen and ink, underpaint with acrylic paint, and then finish with colored pencils. This type of work is called “mixed media.”
